Q: What is the meaning, purpose, history, and/ or significance of waist beads?

Q: Are they removable unless we cut them off ?
A: The traditional Africain waist beads do not have a clasps, they are meant to be tied on and stay on. So if you don't want to have them anymore you can cut them off.

A: Use a tape measure to measure the spot you would like your waist beads to lay in inches between your waist and high hip.
